ZQ80 Injection Blow Molding Machine
The ZQ80 is a full European-style one-step injection blow molding machine engineered for high-efficiency, precision hollow container production. Trusted by packaging manufacturers across the United Kingdom and Europe, it combines superior clamping power with low energy consumption — delivering consistent wall thickness, pharmaceutical-grade finish, and multi-cavity output across PET, PP, PE, and PC materials.
What Is a One-Step Injection Blow Molding Machine?
A one-step injection blow molding machine — also known as an ISBM machine — integrates the injection, blowing, and demolding processes into a single rotary-station cycle without any intermediate reheating stage. Unlike two-step stretch blow molding, the parison retains its core heat from injection before being immediately transferred to the blow station. This thermal efficiency fundamentally eliminates gate marks, reduces material stress, and guarantees a perfectly centred wall distribution from the base upwards — making the one-step injection blow molding machine the preferred choice for pharmaceutical bottles, cosmetic vials, medical reagent containers, and food-grade packaging across the United Kingdom.
The ZQ80 represents the flagship mid-range model in our European-style ISBM lineup, purpose-built for UK buyers who need compliance-ready output, rapid mould changeover, and robust 24/7 production cycles. With an injection weight of 466 g, a screw L/D ratio of 22:1, and support for bottle volumes ranging from 1 ml to 2,000 ml, it handles an exceptionally wide product portfolio on a single platform.
Core Technical Advantages
Full European-Style Structure
The ZQ80 adopts a full European-style frame where the clamping force is 20–30% greater than comparable machines in its class. This structural rigidity directly reduces flash, extends mould life, and maintains repeatability across high-speed multi-cavity runs — key requirements for UK pharmaceutical and personal care producers.
High-Precision Angle Divider
A standard high-precision angle divider synchronises the opening and closing mode with turret lifting in a single, fluid motion. This synchronisation shortens dry cycle time to just 4 seconds, a measurable competitive advantage when running three-shift continuous production in UK cosmetics or pharmaceutical facilities.
Unique Pressurised Clamping
The booster cylinder is decoupled from the opening and closing sequence — it applies clamping force only when the mould is fully closed. Combined with a hydraulic double system as standard, energy consumption drops 20–30% below industry norms, directly reducing electricity costs at UK sites operating under rising energy tariffs.
Wide Material Compatibility
The ZQ80 injection blow molding machine processes PET, PP, HDPE, LDPE, PC, and PETG resins without platform changes, enabling rapid product diversification. UK manufacturers switching between personal care, oral care, and OTC pharmaceutical packaging can retool in under two hours with our quick-change mould system.

Mould Cavitation Reference — ZQ80
The maximum number of cavities per mould varies with container volume. The table below provides guidance for common packaging sizes encountered in UK food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and personal care applications.

How the ZQ80 Works — Process Principle and Materials
The ZQ80 operates on a three-station rotary indexing table. At Station 1, molten resin is injected around a core pin inside the injection mould to form a precision parison. The turret indexes 120 degrees, carrying the parison — still on its core pin and retaining residual heat — to Station 2, where blow air is introduced through the core pin to expand the preform against the blow mould cavity. A further 120-degree rotation brings the finished container to Station 3, where the stripping mechanism ejects the bottle. Because no reheat stage is involved, the entire thermal history of the material is optimised, resulting in outstanding optical clarity, minimal haze, and tight mouth-dimension tolerances critical for pharmaceutical and cosmetic closures.
From a materials standpoint, the ZQ80 injection blow molding machine accommodates PET (for clear beverage and pharmaceutical bottles), PP (for squeeze bottles, dropper packs, and syrups), HDPE and LDPE (for personal care and agrochemical packaging), as well as PC and PETG for specialist high-clarity or tinted applications. The 22:1 L/D screw ratio ensures thorough plasticisation of all these materials at consistent melt quality, reducing the risk of unmelted pellets, flow lines, or discolouration in finished containers.

Oral liquid vials, nasal spray bottles, eye-drop containers, reagent bottles. Manufactured to meet UK MHRA packaging material guidance.
Serum bottles, shampoo packs, lotion pumps, roll-on deodorant bodies — high-gloss finish, consistent wall thickness.
Condiment bottles, honey jars, juice containers, flavouring vials — FDA and EU-compliant contact materials readily processed.
Herbicide bottles, fertiliser containers, motor oil samples — chemical-resistant HDPE and PP blends processed at high output rates.
Customer Success
Pharma-grade Oral Liquid Bottle Line — 12-Cavity PP, 30 ml
A Leeds-based contract pharmaceutical packager approached us in early 2024, looking to replace two ageing two-step blowmoulders that were generating unacceptable levels of flash and dimensional variation on 30 ml PP oral liquid bottles. The customer’s QA team was rejecting approximately 3.5% of output per shift, creating rework costs that threatened the profitability of a key NHS supply contract. Following a two-day technical assessment at our production facility, we specified a single ZQ80 injection blow molding machine with an 18-cavity PP mould. Post-commissioning measurements confirmed a rejection rate of under 0.4%, wall-thickness variation within ±0.05 mm, and a cycle output of approximately 4,200 bottles per hour. The customer recovered their capital outlay within 14 months and subsequently ordered a second ZQ80 for a new 60 ml line.
“We’ve run the ZQ80 on three-shift pharmaceutical production for 18 months without a single unplanned stoppage. The energy savings alone have paid for the extended warranty package. Highly recommended for UK pharma packagers.”
“The mould changeover on the ZQ80 is genuinely fast — we can switch from a 100 ml cosmetic bottle to a 250 ml food-grade jar in under 90 minutes. That flexibility has opened two new customer accounts for our Midlands facility.”
“Price-to-performance on the ZQ80 injection blow molding machine is exceptional compared to European alternatives we evaluated. Pre-delivery inspection was thorough, installation support was proactive, and spare parts arrived in four working days.”
Our Manufacturing Facility & Custom Engineering Capability
Every ZQ80 injection blow molding machine leaves our purpose-built manufacturing facility after a full 72-hour production run test, dimensional verification of all critical clearances, and hydraulic pressure cycle testing at 110% rated load. Our engineering team does not simply assemble — they build bespoke configurations for customers whose applications fall outside catalogue parameters. This includes non-standard platen sizes, extended barrel zones for heat-sensitive medical-grade materials, custom colour-coded control panels to match CE-certified factory environments, and bespoke mould packages designed around our customers’ existing bottle shapes. For UK buyers, we maintain technical drawings in metric format aligned with BS EN standards and can supply full CE documentation packages for machinery directive compliance.
Our custom tooling department has designed and manufactured over 3,800 injection-blow moulds since 2006, spanning industries from infant nutrition to automotive chemicals. Each mould is machined from P20 or H13 steel, polished to SPI A1 standard for optical surfaces, and trialled on the production machine before dispatch. If you have an unusual neck diameter, a non-standard thread profile, or a graduated-opacity body requirement, our team handles it in-house — no third-party toolmakers, no delays in accountability.
